The Dublin workshop took place on March 7th 2015 in Dublin West Education Centre.
We were delighted to welcome Claire Matthews of the PDST to our Spring 2015 Workshop in early March. Claire treated us to a thought-provoking session on writing in the MFL classroom.
This was followed by the Methodology Carousel.
A big thank you to all who attended and made it such an interesting day! If you would like to read tweets about the day with photos, links and ideas, click here.
2015’s AGM & Conference took place on Saturday, October 10th in the Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley. The Clarion is just off the M50 and the N4, and is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Liffey Valley bus-stop.
The night before – Friday 9th October – we ran our second TeachMeet after the huge success of the previous year’s oversubscribed inaugural event. Read one committee member’s thoughts on last year’s event here. If you are not sure what a TeachMeet is, click here to read a helpful Prezi by Paul Barrett on what they are and how they work. It was, once again, a great success. Sincere thanks to all those who attended, but especially to the presenters.
We were delighted to welcome Ana Sánchez Pérez of Colegio Delibes back for another year of collaboration. During the last few years, our collaboration with Delibes has been of great benefit and we are greatly looking forward to this year’s presentations. We requested suggestions from members via social media and the result is that the 2015 grammar focus was on the past tenses and Ana also gave a special second presentation on the extra-linguistic…gestures, body language and more!
We continued our policy to ask sponsors to provide a prize for the raffle which can go straight to our members rather than charging them a fee. You can see the agenda, sponsors and prizes here: ATS Conference and AGM 2015
We had 130 attendees! So we really appreciate your patience as we build and maintain a system that can cope with this kind of numbers. We in turn will do our best to respond to queries about the new system when you ask us.
There was finger food at the TeachMeet and a light lunch was served at the Conference.
